NAMI Maryville speaks to Blount County CIT trainees
NAMI Maryville was honored to be asked to speak to the first CIT class to be held in Blount County. Trish Lockard introduced the officers to NAMI's services, programs and presentations, and support groups, and discussed our upcoming symposium on CIT, as well as putting in a plug for the 2020 NAMIWalk in Knoxville. NAMI members Ruth Ann Amentastro, Della Morrow, and Maryville resident Jan McCoy each spoke about their family members' interactions with law enforcement in Blount County. The officers were attentive, they asked questions, and we received positive feedback.
Faithnet comes to Blount County thanks to grant funds.
NAMI Maryville Co-Chair Ashley McKamey submitted a Faithnet grant application and NAMI Maryville was selected to receive one of the top grant amounts. NAMI Maryville expects to begin offering Faithnet to churches in Blount and Knox Counties beginning November 2019. For more information, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
